COURSE DESCRIPTION: Delve deeper into the world of electrical diagnostics with this advanced-level course. Designed exclusively for seasoned technicians, the Electrical Diagnostics II class focuses on the intricate techniques of computer-controlled system diagnostics. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses multi-OEM-specific vehicle configurations, emphasizing ABS, Body, and CAN Network systems. Further enrich your skill set with hands-on waveform analysis, oscilloscope diagnostics, and data interpretation via DVOM and scan tools. This is your gateway to mastering every facet of modern-day circuit diagnostics. You must bring your own Digital Multimeter. Hotel & lunch are included.

PREREQUISITE:

  • Completion of TRITECH’s Electrical I: Essential Electrical System Diagnostics course OR
  • Proficiency in the following:
    • Deciphering and interpreting wiring schematics.
    • Skillful usage of a digital multimeter.
    • A foundational understanding of oscilloscope functionalities and its software.
    • Proven expertise in basic electrical system diagnostic techniques.

COURSE INCLUDES:

Tech must show the following skills upon completion:

  • Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams for troubleshooting
  • Identify between electrical and mechanical faults
  • Interpret scan tool data to determine necessary action
  • Demonstrate advanced diagnostic techniques using sensor simulation
  • Use various test equipment to gather raw data to determine the root cause
  • Diagnose and repair all signals and component concerns using an oscilloscope
  • Diagnose and repair communication (J1939)/computer-controlled circuitry
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HD-OBD system operation/diagnostics

GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION:

  • Diesel Technician Electrical Training class
  • 4-day course | Tues-Thurs 8 am-5 pm | Friday 8 am-12 pm
  • Included hotel stay, lunch, and TRITECH-provided equipment
  • MUST BRING YOUR OWN DIGITAL MULTIMETER

WHAT WE PROVIDE

  • Laptop: Diagnostic laptops will be provided. However, we encourage students to bring their own
  • Safety: Eye & ear protection, safety masks, and gloves will be provided. Steel-toe shoes and long pants required
  • Meals: Lunch and drinks will be provided daily. Additionally, the Hotel provides breakfast every morning from 7 am-9 am
  • Hotel: Hotel room for Student attending training class Monday- Thursday nights

LOCATION: ETT Training Center

TRITECH Expert Technician Training Center is in New Braunfels, TX, while the San Antonio, TX airport (SAT) is 35.5 miles from training center and the Austin, TX airport (AUS) is 47 miles from ETT training center. Please plan on arriving the Monday prior to class starting on Tuesday and departing Fridays 3:00pm or after.

What to do while in town?

New Braunfels is Centrally located between Austin and San Antonio and is best known for the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers, great food, live music and the nearby Gruene Historic District.
